Dupage County Resident Hits $1 Million Jackpot On $50 Instant Ticket From Favorite Store

CHICAGO, April 24, 2026 — A lucky DuPage County resident is now officially a member of the millionaire club after claiming the $1 million top prize from the Illinois Lottery’s aptly named Millionaire Club Instant Ticket.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous under the name ‘Lucky,’ purchased the $50 ticket at a local Mobil Gas station, a retailer he’s long considered his favorite.
“I just celebrated my birthday a few weeks ago, so this win feels like the perfect gift,” said the winner. “It’s especially exciting since I bought the ticket at a store I visit regularly.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil Gas, located at 435 W Roosevelt Rd. in Lombard. Initially, the winner bought one ticket that wasn’t a winner, but he decided to purchase a second ticket—which turned out to be the jackpot. “I scratched off the ticket during a break at work and boom—I won,” he said.
The store is more than just a place to buy tickets for him. “I come to this store often, and I’m close friends with the staff here. They were thrilled when I shared the good news with them,” he said. “When I bought the ticket, I told them I was coming back with a lot of zeros. I can’t believe it actually happened!”
This isn’t Lucky’s first big win. “I play the lottery often and have won about 20 other times, with prizes ranging from $1,000-$5,000,” he shared.
With his newfound wealth, the winner plans to make several positive changes in his life. “I’m going to invest in my family’s future, buy a new home, and refresh my wardrobe. I also plan to donate a portion to a local hospital,” he added with a smile.
The retailer that sold the winning ticket will also benefit. The Mobil Gas station will receive a retailer bonus of one percent of the prize amount, which totals $10,000.
