1. Pick from 1 to 10 numbers
Use a play slip, speak to your retailer, or purchase a ticket through an Illinois Lottery vending machine. Choose from numbers 1-80 or ask your retailer for a Quick Pick. More numbers mean bigger prizes and different odds, but it does NOT affect the price of your ticket. See Ways to Win for more information on prizes and odds.
2. Pick your wager amount per draw
You can wager $1, $2, $5, or $10 per drawing.

Your total cost of the ticket will be your wager amount multiplied by the number of consecutive draws you select.
3. Pick how many consecutive draws you want to play
You can play up to 15 draws in a row with the same numbers. Drawings happen every 4 minutes.
4. Purchase your ticket
Confirm your selections with your retailer and pay. On the Illinois Lottery vending machine, select Purchase after confirming your selections. Please note that you will have to add funds to the machine before you can make your selections.
5. Review your purchase
Review your ticket and hold onto it. Get ready for the draw!

For the Match 10/10, Match 9/9 and Match 8/8 tiers, there will be an imposed liability cap of $1 million each. All prize amounts for those applicable tiers will become Pari-Mutuel, only after total liability in a specific tier is equal to or greater than $1 million in a Drawing.

What is HotWins®?
HotWins is an Illinois-only draw game you can play in select bars, restaurants, or other lottery retail locations. To play, you pick between 1 and 10 numbers and try to match them against the 20 winning numbers in each draw. Draws happen every 4 minutes, except during Night Mode.
How much can I win?
Prize amounts depend on your wager amount, how many numbers you play, and how many numbers you match. The more numbers played and the higher the wager, the more money you could win. For example, a $1 wager pays up to $1,500 on a ticket with 6 numbers played versus up to $100,000 for 10 numbers played. If you wager $10 and choose to play 10 numbers, your top prize potential goes up to $1,000,000. See the back of the playslip or Ways to Win page for more details.
What are the odds?
The odds vary depending on how many numbers you choose to play. Playing more numbers does not always mean better odds because the minimum you need to match to win a prize is different for each amount of numbers played. For example, if you choose to play 2 numbers, then your odds to win any prize are 1 in 2.27, but if you play 5 numbers your odds to win any prize are 1 in 10.34. How much does a ticket cost?
The price of your ticket is equal to the wager amount ($1, $2, $5, or $10) multiplied by the number of consecutive draws you choose to play (1 to 15 draws). The price remains the same, regardless of how many numbers you choose to play. For example, if you play 7 numbers at a $2 wager for 5 draws, then the price is $2 wager X 5 draws = $10 total. Similarly, if you played 3 numbers for a $2 wager for 5 draws, the price would still be $10.
How many numbers can I choose?
You can select between 1 and 10 numbers. More numbers = higher prizes but different odds. The amount of numbers you play does not impact the price of your ticket.
How many numbers are drawn each game?
Each draw selects 20 numbers out of 80.
How often do drawings happen?
Every 4 minutes, except during the Night Mode hours of 3:00 to 6:00 AM CT, when there are no active drawings, but you may still buy tickets. If you buy tickets during Night Mode, the tickets will automatically be eligible to start at the next 6 AM draw.
How do I purchase HotWins?
HotWins is a retail-only game, found anywhere the Illinois Lottery is sold, including select bars and restaurants. Simply fill out a paper playslip or make your selections through an Illinois Lottery machine, pay for the ticket, then you will receive your ticket.
How can I check my results?
There are several ways you can check your HotWins tickets. The easiest way is to use the Illinois Lottery app to scan your ticket and check if you are a winner. Alternatively, you can scan your ticket in retail locations or have the retailer scan it for you, just like any other Illinois Lottery game. The number checker on the Illinois Lottery website can also be used to input your ticket details and draw IDs to see the results of those draws. If you’d like to watch the results, you may do so by watching the drawings on monitors at retail locations or through the Illinois Lottery’s website or app.
Do I need an account to play?
HotWins is a retail-only game that does not require an Illinois Lottery account.

HotWins drawings are conducted daily every 4 minutes except between the hours of 3-6 AM. Drawing results can be found on the Illinois Lottery website, www.illinoislottery.com and on the Illinois Lottery app. Results are also available for viewing on the Daily Drawings page and the Illinois Lottery YouTube channel shortly after the drawing.
