CHICAGO, March 6, 2025 – A gas station in Central Illinois sold a $150,000 winning Powerball ticket for last night’s drawing.

The ticket was purchased at Casey’s General Store, located at 1161 W. State Hwy. 54 in Clinton, a town about 40 miles west of Champaign and home to just over 7,000 residents.

The lucky winner matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball in Wednesday’s drawing to score the $150,000 prize. The winning numbers were: 24-28-40-63-65 and the Powerball number was 20.

A Powerball ticket is $2. For an additional $1, this player added the game’s Power Play feature, which ended up tripling their total prize to $150,000.

The lucky winner has one year from the date of the winning draw to claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages the winner to write their name on the back of their winning ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize.

Over 14,000 winning tickets were purchased by Illinois Lottery players for the Wednesday, March 5 Powerball drawing, netting players over $246,000 in prizes.

For selling the winning ticket, Casey’s in Clinton will receive a one percent bonus of the prize amount, or $1,500.

This isn’t the first time the retailer has sold a big winning lottery ticket. Just two years ago, in March 2023, someone purchased a $450,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket at the Casey’s in Clinton.

Already this year, over 413,000 winning Powerball tickets have been sold in Illinois, with total prizes amounting to more than $4.5 million for Illinois Lottery players.

Powerball drawings are conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings at 9:59 PM CT. The jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing is now a whopping $320 million.

Tickets for the game can be purchased in-store, online, or on the Illinois Lottery app. For more information or to buy tickets online, please visit IllinoisLottery.com.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The Illinois Lottery reminds all players to: “Set A Limit and Stick To It.”  Before you play, set a limit on the amount of time and money you plan to spend and only spend what you have. For more information, visit: Illinois Lottery Responsible Gaming.
