Powerball Jackpot Climbs To $775 Million, Second Largest This Year

CHICAGO, December 2, 2025 — Illinois Lottery players have another shot at a life-changing prize this week as the Powerball jackpot climbs to an impressive $775 million for the Wednesday night drawing.
If won, this would mark the second-largest Powerball jackpot of 2025 and the eighth-largest in the game’s history.
Several Illinois players are already celebrating big wins from Monday night’s drawing. One lucky player won a $1 million prize after matching five numbers. The winning ticket was purchased at Midtown Liquors, located at 306 W. North Ave. in Flora, a small community in southern Illinois.
Another Illinois player won $50,000, matching four numbers and the Powerball. That winning ticket was purchased at Mid-Town Convenience, located at 600 E. Fort Street in Farmington.
The current Powerball roll began on September 7, 2025, and since then, more than 680,000 winning tickets have been sold in Illinois, awarding players nearly $10.5 million in prizes.
Each Powerball ticket sold is also a win for the retailers, as they receive commission on every ticket sold – and a selling bonus of 1% of the prize amount on any winning tickets.
The next Powerball drawing will take place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 9:59 p.m. CT. Tickets can be purchased in-store or online via the Illinois Lottery website and mobile app. Powerball tickets are $2 each, and players can add the Power Play for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.
As the Powerball jackpot continues to grow, the Illinois Lottery encourages players to remember it’s a game of chance. For more information about the odds of winning, visit the Powerball game page on IllinoisLottery.com. Be Smart, Play Smart®. Must be 18 or older to play.
