$1.7 Billion Powerball Jackpot Up For Grabs In Christmas Eve Drawing

December 23rd, 2025

$1 Million Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Deerfield, Illinois

CHICAGO, December 23, 2025 — The Powerball® jackpot has soared to an incredible $1.7 billion for Wednesday night’s drawing, offering a potentially life-changing prize just in time for Christmas Eve.

If won, this jackpot would become the fourth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history, making this holiday season even more exciting for Powerball players across Illinois.

While no one matched all six numbers in Monday night’s drawing, Illinois players are celebrating some big wins. One lucky winner in Deerfield, Illinois, scored $1 million by matching five white ball numbers. The winning ticket was purchased at the Mobile gas station located at 650 Waukegan Rd.

Additionally, another Illinois player won $100,000 by matching four numbers plus the Powerball and opting for the Power Play® feature. Seven other Illinois players each won $50,000 by matching four numbers and the Powerball.

The winning numbers were 3–18–36–41–54, with Powerball 7. The Illinois Lottery encourages all players to check their tickets carefully.

The current Powerball jackpot run began on September 7, 2025. Since then, nearly 1.5 million winning tickets have been sold statewide, awarding players more than $18.4 million in prizes and generating nearly $33 million for the Illinois Common School Fund, which supports K-12 public education.

Retailers also benefit from every Powerball ticket sold, earning commission on sales and a 1% selling bonus on any winning tickets.

Powerball tickets are available at licensed retailers statewide and online through the Illinois Lottery website and mobile app. Tickets cost $2 per play, with the option to add Power Play for $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.

Be Smart, Gift Smart this holiday season. Lottery tickets make great gifts from adults to adults. Never give lottery tickets to a minor. For more information on how to gift and play responsibly, please go to illinoislottery.com and visit our Responsible Gaming pages.
