$1.45 Million Lucky Day Lotto Winner Comes Forward To Claim Their Prize At The Des Plaines Prize Center

September 27th, 2024

CHICAGO, September 27, 2024 – Earlier this week, a gas station in Des Plaines was celebrating after discovering they had sold a $1.45 million winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket. Now that lucky player has come forward to claim their prize.

“When I realized how big my prize was, I almost passed out! I thought ‘no way, this can’t be real,’ exclaimed the Lucky Day Lotto winner, who has requested to remain anonymous. “I checked the winning numbers online multiple times the morning after the drawing. It wasn’t until I clicked on ‘check your numbers,’ and entered the numbers on my ticket that I realized “Oh my gosh, I really won!”

The ticket was purchased for the Sunday, September 22 evening drawing at the BP gas station at 1215 Lee Street in Des Plaines.

The winning ticket matched all five numbers in the Sunday evening drawing to score the $1,450,000 jackpot prize. The winning numbers were: 6-16-32-33-40.

“I called my best friend to share the news, and they said to me, ‘Just last week you were worried about not having enough money for your retirement. Well, I guess you don’t have to worry anymore - I’m so happy for you!,’ shared the lucky winner. “They’re right - I am so happy that I can’t stop smiling and crying at the same time.”

This is the 77th player this year to become a millionaire with the Illinois Lottery.
