Powerball Jackpot Balloons To $1.4 Billion For Saturday Night’S Draw

CHICAGO, October 6, 2023 – Powerball is the hottest ticket in town as the jackpot balloons to a staggering $1.4 billion for tomorrow night’s drawing.

If someone wins Saturday night, it would be the third largest Powerball jackpot and the fifth largest lottery jackpot won in U.S. history. 

With over 7,000 Illinois Lottery retailers across the State, there has been a noticeable increase in foot traffic, with players heading into their local stores to pick up a ticket.  

The Illinois Lottery expects to sell more than four million tickets for tomorrow night’s drawing - and every single one of those tickets is in with a chance to win this life-changing $1.4 billion prize.

Every lottery ticket purchased is also a win for the State. Thanks to Illinois Lottery players, the Lottery has contributed over $24 billion in funding to the Common School Fund to support K-12 education.

Powerball tickets are $2 each, and players have the option to add the Powerplay for an additional $1 for the chance to multiply non-jackpot prizes.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. CT.
