CHICAGO, March 24, 2022 – An Illinois Lottery player from Benld is $800,000 richer after winning the Lucky Day Lotto grand prize in the Monday, March 21 midday drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at TJ’s Food Mart, 205 N. Hardroad in Benld, and matched all five numbers, 3-16-39-42-43, to take home the grand prize.
Lacey Reisinger, a manager at TJ’s Food Mart, learned that her store sold the winning ticket during a phone conversation with a Lottery representative. “I asked him why he was congratulating me, and that’s when I found out that our store had sold the winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket worth $800,000,” exclaimed Reisinger.
Resinger was then pleased to find out that the winners were regular customers, “I think it’s wonderful that a local couple from the area won. I am so happy for them.”
This is not the first time someone has won a big prize after buying a winning ticket at the convenience store. “We’ve had many Lottery winners over the years, jackpot prize amounts ranging from thousands to millions of dollars - it’s always a thrill to be a part of the winning moment,” added Reisinger.
For selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus of $8,000, one percent of the prize amount.
Over 14,000 prizes, ranging from $1 to $200, were won in this Lucky Day Lotto drawing. In all, players won more than $830,000 in this drawing. Lucky Day Lotto is played twice a day, seven days a week.
Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize.
The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a safe place, and call 1-800-252-1775 for more information on how to claim their prize. Guidelines for mailing in prize claims are available at: Illinois Lottery.com/winning.
