$1 Million Lucky Day Lotto Ticket Sold in Lincolnwood

March 8th, 2022

CHICAGO, March 8, 2022 – A lottery player from Lincolnwood will be feeling like a million bucks today, after winning the grand prize with Lucky Day Lotto® in the Sunday evening drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Candy Mart, located at 3333 W. Touhy Ave. in Lincolnwood and matched all five winning numbers - 10- 13- 16- 35- 39 - to scoop the $1 million grand prize.

Hugo Soto, manager of the Candy Mart in Lincolnwood, had already heard from the lucky winner: “Someone called this morning and told me they bought the Lucky Day Lotto ticket from my store,” said Soto. “I don’t know the winner personally, but I’m happy they won.”

This is not the first time someone has won a large amount of money at the Candy Mart.

“Six years ago, someone won a thousand dollars a week for the next 20 years. It’s a proud accomplishment, I still have the banner up in the store,” added Soto.

The retailer will receive a bonus of $10,000 (one percent of the prize amount) for selling the winning ticket.

More than 26,620 other prizes, ranging from $1 to $200, were won in this Lucky Day Lotto drawing. In all, players won more than $1,059,847 in this drawing.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a safe place, and call 1-800-252-1775 for more information on how to claim their prize. Guidelines for mailing in prize claims are available at: Illinois Lottery.com/winning.  Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize.
