CHICAGO, Dec. 20, 2021 Christmas has come early for one Lucky Day Lotto player after snagging a jackpot worth $1.3 million.

The winning ticket was sold at Speedway Fuel Stop, located at 2091 Crystal Pkwy in Belvidere, and matched all five numbers in Friday evening’s drawing: 1-10-15-25-40.

“Our store is buzzing with excitement,” said Heather Wiese, Manager, Speedway in Belvidere. “Since the word got out that we sold the big prize ticket, that’s all everyone is talking about.”

When asked if she knew who might have purchased the winning ticket, Wiese said, “We have no clue but we hope it’s someone that will pay it forward to help others in need.”

The newly-minted millionaire is yet to come forward and claim their prize. The Illinois Lottery encourages all lucky winners to write their name on the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they’re ready to claim their prize. Winners should visit IllinoisLottery.com/winning to learn how to claim their prizes.

For selling the winning ticket, the retailer will receive a bonus of $13,000, one percent of the prize amount.

More than 37,763 other prizes, ranging from $1 to $200, were won in last Friday evening’s Lucky Day Lotto drawing.

Winners have one year from the date of the winning draw in which to claim their prize.

Lucky Day Lotto is played twice a day, seven days a week. For more information or to buy tickets online, please visit illinoislottery.com.
