NOTICE OF CLOSURE: THE ILLINOIS LOTTERY CLAIM CENTER LOCATED IN THE JAMES R. THOMPSON CENTER IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)
Chicago - The Illinois Lottery announced that beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, its claim center located in the James R. Thompson Center (JRTC), 100 W. Randolph Street, Chicago, will be closed until further notice. The closure of the claim center is in response to recent public health concerns due to COVID-19.
The Illinois Lottery’s remaining four claim centers located in Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield and Fairview Heights will remain open at this time. Winning players are encouraged to visit one those locations or mail in their claim. If your claim is $600 or less, you can still visit one of the Lottery’s 7,200 retail locations statewide. Please visit the Lottery’s website, https://www.IllinoisLottery.com/winning, for claim center contact information, to download a claim form and for more information on how to submit a claim through the mail.
“We understand how important it is for our players to claim and receive their winnings in the most expeditious way possible, but we also want to be sure we are responding appropriately to help address public health concerns related to COVID-19,” said Harold Mays, Acting Director.
The Illinois Lottery suggests that players who feel sick or those with a weakened immune system refrain from visiting an Illinois Lottery claim center, consider visiting at a later date or mail in their claim.
The Illinois Lottery will continue to work closely with the Governor’s Office and the Illinois Department of Public Health to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will respond accordingly as new developments come to light. The Lottery recommends that players visit https://www.IllinoisLottery.com/winning for up-to-date information on Lottery claim center status.
